Ten minutes is a long time for a writer and it is the exact time I have been spending in front of this screen waiting for me to type something.
I cannot pick any information as nothing seems interesting enough.
What shall I say to introduce myself? Do I have to mention that I am 24, Italian, moved to London last year?
Shall I tell you my life?
Is this enough, is this diverse? Is this catchy, peculiar, worth reading?
I probably should talk to you about my weaknesses, my fears, my flaws, what makes the real me. Forget about superfluous details, straight to the point I will unfold my soul.
I am the most insecure person in the world and I always want to make everybody’s happy.
I am tremendously disorganized, in everything I do and when I mean everything I really intend no exception:  my room is a battleground among clothes, shoes, books and unclassifiable stuff; my writing is messy, inconstant, impossible to follow up unless you are me; my days do not have a scheme, the word ‘schedule’ is completely unknown to me and I often end up suffocated by deadlines:  an article, the laundry, a dinner with friends.
I easily get bored by people, facts, movies, books: everything has to be interesting and everybody needs to stimulate, constantly, my mind.
I am moody, inconstant, unforeseeable and a very demanding person.
I alternate moments of hyperactivity and long afternoons under the duvet, watching movies.
My past taught me hard lessons and life transformed me,  from a feather I turned into a rock.
I would describe myself as an ordinary person and writing is my extraordinary, it is the world that unfolds before my eyes and suddenly becomes so clear, easy to understand, to describe: there is always a sense of peace floating around my head whenever I pour words on a paper.
Writing is the only possible expression for my soul; it is a communion, a mutual agreement among soul, mind and hands; it is the perfect union for entities able to collaborate at the same pace, constantly: it is a profound melting  which, most of the times, is better than any other union I have in real life. Writing is the real me.

BeInquisitive, you have been very busy! Interesting essays. Your description of your room and your wriiting fits a lot of writers’ lives. Good start on your new blog.

Thank you for checking out my blog. I enjoyed your ‘About’ post. I, too, had no idea what I should put in mine. My life seemed so ordinary, so uninteresting. Why should I bother telling about it? Who am I, anyway, and how do I compile that into words? You seem to have done a good job of explaining how you are, and I like the way you use your words.

  3. As a blog reader, I enjoy getting to know the blogger on their About page. I like knowing you are a 24 year old Italian, that just moved to London. I really like to see a picture of the person, I know that part is hard for me too, I am not crazy putting my image out into the blogoshere and beyond.

However I just share my observations. I see the About page as the back cover to your novel.

    Peace & Love

  4. Allora bella, sei Italiana? Mio marito è italiano, ho imparato da parlare all’università, ma fa un bel tempo che non ho scritto, a parte dei cugini in Italia. Mi scuso per le errore. Tuo blog mi piace molto, e adesso ti scrivo sempre in italiano perché devo praticare 😉 See you soon!

    • Ciao! Si sono italiana, il tuo italiano e’ buono ma e’ sempre meglio praticare! fatti sentire presto! Looking forward to hearing from you!

  5. Thank you for this. Not as ordinary as you think you are darlin. Keep writing. 🙂

  6. Your English is amazing. I never cease to be impressed by Europeans who have such great command over a language that has so many inconsistencies. You talk of your weaknesses. What of your strengths, besides writing, of course? Your blog theme rocks, by the way! Such superb taste…:P

    • Thank you for you compliments, it really means a lot to me when people appreciate my writing skills, writing in a foreign language is anything but easy, luckily it is becoming more natural :)….mmm my strengths? I give everything I can to people I am attached to, I tend not to forget that people suffer in the world and I want to give them a voice…this last one is my greatest purpose and maybe quality. What about you?
